Oregon Pathfinders monthly Leadership Letter May 2010

Courage to Stand

(Jeremiah 1:7-8)

Dear Pathfinder Directors and Staff,

This month continue the journey with me of rediscovering the what of Pathfinder ministry.  Review the 4th step with me of the Seven Steps for Successful Pathfinder Leadership booklet.  Pray through the concepts that are presented in pages 21-26.  (Yes - page 21 of the 3rd step has important points that lead into the 4th step.)  Bring these training ideas to Jesus in prayer and ask Him how to apply this chapter.  Ask our District Coordinators to help you.  They are the Pathfinder specialists that this chapter refers to, figuring out what needs to be known, to understood, to experienced, and learned.  The Holy Spirit wants to work through you in ways you have yet to experience in Pathfinder ministry.  This is our calling!

May's reading:

  • May 2-8 - read and memorize the 7 Steps booklet - Fourth Step: What? pages 21-26.
  • May 9-15 - read the Pathfinder Staff Manual - Pathfinder Club Evaluation, pages 68-75 (2007)
  • May 16-22 - read again the 7 Steps booklet through at least once. We cannot read this booklet too much.
  • May 23-29 - read the Pathfinder Staff Manual - Putting Pathfindering on the Map, pages 82-83 (2007 edition)

Step #4 (of the 7 Steps booklet) If you are experienced Staff, help to train your new Staff what to do - this will take time but this is necessary in order for your club to operate smoothly.

Lord, teach us how to help each other to have the "Courage to Stand" and lead Pathfinder ministry,

Pastor Tracy Wood

Oregon Conference Pathfinder Director

Praises & Concerns:

We are praising the Lord for a great Pathfinder year and are looking forward to the celebration of Pathfinder ministry at the Pathfinder Fair.

Praise the Lord for the Pathfinders who have preached for Pathfinder Sabbath throughout this Pathfinder year, and for the Staff who have provided the opportunities and enabled them to be successful for God!
